Online/In-Store Rental Choices

U-Haul Reservation Options
First, Choose Which Type of Rental You Want:
Local Move: You pick up and return the equipment to the same location. You will be charged a daily rental rate, as well as a per-mile charge. The length of time you have for your move depends on availability. You need to agree before you pick up the equipment on the length of time. Remember that the equipment must returned on time, as there will be other people counting on it for their move.

One-Way Move: Pick up equipment at one location and return it to another. You will be given a rate that includes a specific number of days and allowed miles. If you believe that the move will take you longer or you need more miles, that can be arranged at the time of rental.

UHAUL.com provides you the the option of researching the possibilities for your move at your convenience.

If you are comfortable navigating the site, you will find truck and trailer recommendations and moving tips and suggestions. You can make your reservation, and choose your preferred pick up location.

When you make your reservation online your information is being relayed from the main servers to the local U-Haul dispatchers who will look at your rental, check availability.

The program shows availability at the time you make your reservation, but it is possible that the equipment has already moved on another rental. It also could be that the equipment you chose was scheduled for a maintenance that would make it unsuitable or unavailable for your move.

U-Haul will make every effort to have your equipment at your preferred location. If the equipment is not available they will offer you other options.

Your local U-Haul dealer will want to be with you from the beginning of the reservation process to the day you pick up your equipment.

If you are moving locally they know their own schedule, and the status and availability of the equipment. They inspect their equipment before and after every rental. Most have equipment assigned to them for local usage (there are some exceptions).

If you are wanting local equipment they don't have they can check other locations for you.

If you make your one way reservation with them they will make every effort to have the best equipment for you at their location.

During peak moving times (holidays, first of the month, college moves) your local dealer may have to send you to another location, but their emphasis will be providing you with the best moving experience. Their reputation depends on it.

Try to make your reservation in advance of your move date. If you must make a last-minute reservation, realize you may have to be flexible with your choice of equipment, location, or time.
